As we have entered the Great Fast, we celebrate the Liturgy of the Presanctfied Gifts on weekdays.

Today is Catholic Blog Day!

We welcome all of our Latin Catholic brothers and sisters to the Great Fast, and await our Eastern Catholic and Orthodox brothers and sisters on the Old Calendar to join us on the Lenten journey on Monday the 27th.

The theme of Catholic Blog Day is PENANCE!

I can think of nothing better to offer here than the traditional Prayer of St. Ephrem:

Lord and Master of my life, spare me from the spirit of indifference, despair, lust for power, and idle chatter. Instead, bestow on me, your servant, the spirit of integrity, humility, patience, and love. Yes, O Lord and King, let me see my own sins and not judge my brothers and sisters; for you are blessed forever and ever. Amen.
