As we have entered the Great Fast, we celebrate the Liturgy of the Presanctfied Gifts on weekdays.
Dedicated to the chant tradition of Carpatho-Rusyns, both Catholic and Orthodox. We aim to inform, educate and provide a means for cantors, choir directors and members, and admirers of this chant tradition to share thoughts and exchange ideas, references and available sources of Plainchant.

Today is Catholic Blog Day!
We welcome all of our Latin Catholic brothers and sisters to the Great Fast, and await our Eastern Catholic and Orthodox brothers and sisters on the Old Calendar to join us on the Lenten journey on Monday the 27th.
The theme of Catholic Blog Day is PENANCE!
I can think of nothing better to offer here than the traditional Prayer of St. Ephrem:
Have a blessed and spiritual Lenten journey!
The theme of Catholic Blog Day is PENANCE!
I can think of nothing better to offer here than the traditional Prayer of St. Ephrem:
| Lord and Master of my life, spare me from the spirit of indifference, despair, lust for power, and idle chatter. Instead, bestow on me, your servant, the spirit of integrity, humility, patience, and love. Yes, O Lord and King, let me see my own sins and not judge my brothers and sisters; for you are blessed forever and ever. Amen. |
Have a blessed and spiritual Lenten journey!

Welcome to the Prostopinije Blog!
On this first full day of Great Lent for us Eastern Catholics on the New Calendar, we dedicate this blog to all who love our Carpatho-Rusyn Plainchant (Prostopinije) and our Byzantine liturgical tradition. We look forward to a vibrant discussion and exchange!
A blessed Lenten journey!
